Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how BYTEVIEW COMPANY LIMITED (“ByteView”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects your information when you use the ByteView mobile application and its related services (the “App”).

We built the App to collect as little personal data as possible. The only personal information we collect is your email address, which we use to identify your account.

1. Information we collect

Email address. When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address. If you sign in through a third-party provider (for example, Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In), we receive only the email address that the provider shares with us.

We do not collect your name, phone number, physical address, precise location, contacts, photos, payment card details, or advertising identifiers, and the App does not contain third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

Like any online service, our servers may briefly process technical data that is strictly necessary to deliver the App and keep it secure (such as an IP address in server logs). We do not use this data to identify you, build a profile of you, or track you across other apps or websites.

2. How we use your email address

• To create, identify and maintain your account;
• To let you sign in and to help you recover access to your account;
• To send you service-related messages, such as security notices or important changes to the App or these policies.

We will not send you marketing emails unless you have expressly agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.

3. How we share information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share your email address only:

• With service providers that host our infrastructure or deliver emails on our behalf, who may use it only to provide those services to us and must keep it confidential;
• When required by law, regulation, court order or a request from a competent authority;
• In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data retention

We keep your email address for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your email address and associated account data within 30 days, unless we are required by law to keep it for longer.

5. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from within the App (where this option is available), or by emailing [email protected] from the email address linked to your account with the subject line “Delete account – ByteView”. We will confirm your request and complete the deletion within 30 days.

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to withdraw your consent, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse, including encrypted connections and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Where your data is stored

Your email address may be stored and processed on servers located in Vietnam or in other countries where our service providers operate. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your information remains protected in line with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

9. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with their email address, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Effective date” above. If the changes are significant, we will also notify you within the App or by email.
